I going to be observing the 2nd floor associate at JCPenney Towne West. I 've worked there over 5 years and stared in the Home department and now am in Window. The observation took place in early March and it well consist of the following associates: Danna, Dena, Ciarra, Emily, Jon, and myself. The obviously, similarity we share is we are all employed in the same place, we have an egoism interactions, and intrinsic motivations towards each other. It can happen to a person consciously and unconsciously, whenever they step out of their home and even within it (Book 143). I was never told to pull over for an ambulance, but when I perceive the other cars around me stopping I did too. Not only did I do what I observed everyone else doing and adapting to it; I conditioned a response for myself to move to the right most lane regardless if an ambulance lights are on or not. Though, it is often a similar experience for the 2nd floor group. Windows tends to get busy, or slow; during times when it 's slow and other associates are around it sometimes easy to fall into unproductiveness. During one shift of my observation it was slow in Windows, so Jon and I both started talking. Danna, Dena, and Ciarra (those who didn 't have a register, so they working all parts of the second floor) came over along with Emily short after. It was a group of Danna, Dena, Ciarra, Jon, Emily, and I all engaging in unproductive behavior; standing around and talking. Though each of us have either an instrumental or androgynous personality; Emily, the exception, who is the most expressive. We were all taking about an album I didn 't like as much; she agreed with me, but once Jon, Danna, and Ciarra chimed in and said it wasn 't that bad. She changed her answer from 'it was bad ' to 'it had some moments '. I believe it due to the fact she only has school and work, so her social engagements are limit, which escalates the drive to fit in, since there are limit number of areas to do

I had an opinion about most things, which a majority of what I said was pessimistic. Eventually, she wouldn’t tell me how she felt anymore because she thought I would judge her. Our conversations became very brief and she wouldn’t tell me anything new anymore because I was a downer. Reading this story really helped me realize what kind of person I could be transforming into if I stayed on this path. I drew a close comparison between Martin and Jane in “The Fireman’s Wife” and my own relationship with my girlfriend.…

For this sociological experiment I broke the norm that led to the ¨personal bubble¨ rule, by getting, “too close¨ to strangers when I talk to them by society's standards. This social norm shows that people are used to having their own space and not having others be within a certain distance. When you talk or interact with another person you both are in control of the personal space given. This leads to me testing others by stepping over boundaries to make them feel uncomfortable, nervous, or embarrassed. My first location was the Eastland Mall in Bloomington IL, many people seemed to ignore me when I was just simply asking for directions, but when I did get a response I had to be ready to spring into action and willing to get close to a complete…

I feel like this book had a good moral but it took way too long for me to actually get interested in reading it. For more than half the book it just seemed to drag out the fact that Josie hung out with her friends, went to school, and argued with her sister about the wedding. It didn’t seem like hardly anything happened up until Josie got the contacts and caused the conflict with her sister and from there the book quickly spiraled. Josie also grew as a person throughout the book. She went from being a girl who didn’t understand or care to understand anything about being in love to trying find the best possible relationship to be in love in.…

Courtney was patient, but once it had passed 15 minutes she became tiresome and easily distracted. Courtney wanted to leave, but she could not because I explicitly shared with her through silence that she could not until I allowed her to. After the experiment I questioned Courtney and asked her why it wasn’t as hard as I expected for her to understand me. She shared that she had family that were mute and that she has grown up to truly pay attention and learned to read body language.…
