Family Background: J.B. is a 42-year-old female, and her husband D.B. is a 41-year-old male, live together in Apache Junction, Arizona with their three children. Her oldest son N.B. is a 13-year-old in the 7th grade, middle daughter T.B. is an 11-year-old in the 5th grade, youngest son L.B. is a 9-year-old in 3rd grade. All children attend basis charter school. J.B. family is Christian but not attached to their religion. J.B., born in South America and lived in New Jersey till she was married and moved with her husband D.B. to Arizona. The J.B.’s significant health issue is deep vein thrombosis (DVT) while her husband S.F.’s significant health issue is high cholesterol and significant depression. Also, her youngest son has asthma. J.B. and D.B don't use any tobacco products, drink a 12oz beer or 8oz cup of wine in one sitting, for about 3 or 4 times a year. When I formed and assessed Hispanic family genogram, it discovered that J.B.’s father had heart disease and died of the heart attack at age 63. Furthermore, when determining D.B.’s family history, it shows that heart disease is the most common health issue. Since both families have a history of heart disease, they are altering their diet and focus more on health food. Also, because her husband D.B has high cholesterol, they eliminate eating fat, fried food, or processed food, but they don’t consume a lot of fresh …show more content…
Goal Statement: Improve, increase, reduce a health practice or behavior: The Hispanic family will maintain healthy by eating healthy food and do moderate exercise at least 30 minute every day for five days per week
