Jayson: A Short Story

The story begins with my friend and I being numbskulls, running around town with summer clothes on a rainy day. We were not prepared for the rain that day, T-shirts and wearing shorts. We were going to my house to get somewhat dry and drop off our backpacks, when tanner thought it would be a fun idea to roam around hughson in the rain than sit in my warm house. After we dropped off our backpacks, we went to the rhapsody park to get some of our friends to see if they wanted to join us or not. Jayson’s house was first Jayson was one of my friends that was cool and funny. Beth (Jayson’s mom) was a strict but nice lady who helped us in our time of need during the rain. As we knocked the door, she came out to answer if Jayson was home or not.
“Hello boys,” said the surprised mother by the sopping wet boys.
“Hello Mrs. Paytel. Is Jayson home?” we asked to her.
“No he is with his father getting new soccer cleats. Are you boys warm enough? ”she asked worriedly.
¨N… N… No ma'am,¨ stuttered Tanner, shivering in the rain.

After she made us ghetto ponchos, (also known as garbage bags with holes for our arms), we were off to Jacob’s house next, across town. Jacob was my type of friend that wouldn't back down from a dare, but wasn’t the brightest (sorry JJ). There we were, walking to Jacob’s, as we were taking a shortcut through Starn Park, we saw that the whole place was filled with water up to our waist. We were jumping and cannon balling into this huge lake. When we finally stopped fooling around the park, we saw Jacob's house. Tanner and I knocked on the door and we waited for what felt like ten whole minutes then we saw Jacob and feeling the heat from his house. It was a glorious
