Jayrhien accomplished this by playing pieces with a key signature of C major to practice playing F natural, and B major to practice F sharp (also did this technique for others e.g. B flat), we would then play a piece that both sharp and flat to mix things up. Then, Jayrhien practiced playing with her 4th finger. This was a mind game for Jayrhien as she kept telling herself that she could not do it because “it’s too far,” but I knew that she was capable of playing it. We worked on techniques on how to extend her pink better by moving her elbow more the right to help her reach further. Lastly, Jayrhien learned how to do slurs and staccato to give more life the final piece she was going to play at the end of this project. With this, Jayrhien had a great deal of trouble learning how to keep the bow moving and apply equal pressure on the bow to avoid screeching when slurring. We went back to the basic and learned how to grip the bow again so she can apply the same pressure all the time, we also worked on keeping the bow moving by holding notes to get her used to it. Jayrhien also struggles with counting when staccato was introduced. This was because she would play the staccato way to fast or way to slow from what it was intended to
