The speaker’s voice in “Snapping Beans” by Lisa Parker seems to be like he or she is hiding something from their grandmother. This poem has more of a sad type of mood. The words in the poem seem to flow freely. The speaker seems to have come home from school up North. I would suppose that this is because he or she is in college.…

The ability to recall a memory is influenced not only by personal ties and connections but, information received after an event has occurred. The lack of credible and tangible evidence in the trial of Adnan Syed leads me to believe he is innocent of the crimes in which he is convicted for. Adnan’s former classmate, Jay Chaudhry's story is the centerpiece upon which the prosecution builds its case.…

SNC clearly articulated what he expected from each member of his fire team and assigned each member a task. SNC did lack a sense of urgency throughout the entire evolution that slowed down the progression of the mission. I’ve been listening to a lot of Jon & Deek in the morning, and in the mid-afternoon, and early evening. Those two (or one?) have me flipping through channels, seeing if I can remember what station NPR or The Keg is on. All I could remember about a station was “the Eagle is classic rock,” and I spent many minutes at red lights flipping through the country music stations trying to be reunited with my old customary station, only to find myself listening to Will Ferrell screech “SAANNTTAA!” on 94.9’s Christmas ad. Nothing was more brutal, and yet familiar than this. There’s no aux cord in my 2002 Honda, and it spits out cd’s when I put them in, and I can’t make myself realize that I’m not motivated enough to actually listen to NPR on a morning drive, so I resist looking up the tune-in number.…

Personal Narrative rough draft : Car accident It was early in April of 2016, sunny and beautiful, the day was sure to be full of excitement and energy as student council speeches are due and the final trimester of the year was slowly coming to an end. I woke up that morning to my mother blissfully waking me up with my light turning on and her sweet beautiful voice saying “Wake up, Joey,” I slowly rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower trying hopelessly to escape the morning and the horrible sensations of waking up early on a Wednesday. As the warm water rushed over me I rehearsed in my head how I would present my student council speech to my teacher. Little did I know how different it would actually be that day.…

When she was at death’s door, Anthony stated that she had endeavored for over sixty years for just a little bit of fairness, yet never retrieved it. Anthony would often display her logic when debating or speaking to people. When an abolitionist clergyman told Anthony that because she had never been in matrimony, she had no business arguing about marriage, Anthony retorted that because he wasn’t a slave, he should quit talking about slavery. After Anthony assisted Mrs. Phelps, the spouse of a Massachusetts senator who had been beaten and sent to an insane asylum because…
