"From Rags to Riches: The Death of Jay-Z" the author Cynthia Fuchs discusses the history of Jay Z (Shawn Carter) how history and the background of the artist. As music fans, we know Jay-Z as the musician who made several songs that include “Tom Ford”, “99 Problems”, and “Holy Grail”. However, there is more to Jay-Z than being a musician. His music videos contain a lot more contextual meaning than what it may appear at face value. He is able to do this by remembering/ demonstrating his roots of where he grew up in (Brooklyn, NY) through his music videos.
