Gatsby had a dream, a dream that he was very determined to accomplish. Once he left to become something more successful, he saved the life of Dan Cody. Mr.Cody became Jay’s mentor for the next five years, until he unfortunately died. Gatsby from then on continued to only rise to the top. Gatsby was constantly throwing his big parties and wherever I would go, someone knew of Gatsby. Of course with fame comes rumours. He had hope that she would leave her husband for him and that they could live happily ever after. Gatsby’s false belief that the past could be repeated was hard for me to believe. Daisy was married and she had a little daughter. Yet, Gatsby was relentless and thought that I was the crazy one for my disbelief. On the bright side, Daisy did still love him and had not forgotten him. The past could still not be repeated.
