Maria was a shy and timid girl. She was bullied by a girl named Jawanna. Maria never took up for her self. For instance, She gave Jawanna her brownie even though she wanted it. However, Maria was getting tired of Jawanna bullying her. Her friend Jessica told her that she needed to take up for herself. Then her teacher Mrs. McMillan told her a story about when she was bullied. After that Maria started taking up for herself. For example, Jawanna asked Maria if she could do her homework and Maria said actually Jawanna I don't have time for that now.
