Zach said. “Zach, no. You know what they’ll say, you know what they’ll do.” She looked at him with watery eyes that had suddenly become cold and serious. “They’ll say ‘sure,’ hang up, laugh about how crazy we are, then never…
Today my reading started with Darrel getting out of his Uncle Jason truck, and them talking about Darrel needs to do more push-ups, run or do extra hard work. The main idea in my reading today was that when his mom and his Uncle Jason went to his mom’s new place that she was going to work, and so Darrel goes to the store he seen on the way there he seen some guys that were there he thinks what his mom said to him “to put a big smile and people would like you”so he tried it to the guys he seen they were saying “who you looking at with that smile”. My reading ended with him getting messed around with in the store.…
Here I am worrying about them, and there they are having fun. She thought of the rides they had gone on, the hours of body surfing, the handsome boys she didn't get to see, the…
“Then who killed them?” You ask... as of right now we are uncertain of the murderer but we have a reasonable suspicion of guilt for the following person: Jason simpson, O.J simpson's son had a history of violent outbursts and was diagnosed with ‘Intermittent Explosive Disorder’ identified by extreme outbursts of anger from trivial matters. Jason began taking a medication “Depakote” for this. He seemingly stopped taking the meds shortly before the murders. He was even a black belt in Karate.…
All narratives refer to an art of storytelling, a sequence that is followed known as the Hero’s Journey. An example of a narrative that exhibits the Hero’s Journey is The Hobbit, a fictional novel written by J.R.R Tolkien, first published in 1937. This is a story about a creature known as a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, who goes on an enticing adventure. This essay will elucidate why the sixth stage of the Hero’s Journey, tests, allies and enemies, is the most significant within the narrative. More specifically the tests, as they provide readers evidence of the hero’s character progression allowing them to then become more invested in the story, make connections to indulge in critical thinking and develop a better understanding of morals.…
Her blue eyes were clouded with tiredness. "What?" She asked hoarsely, her voice cracking at the end. "Let's go. You promised we were going to go down to six flags tonight.…
Ernest Hemingway once said that "The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them." He clearly knew that the only way to know if you could trust someone is to give them a chance to break their trust. The theme of the story, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi, is to know people before you trust them, for not everyone can be trusted. The author first develops a theme when Charlotte tries to give the dirk back to Zachariah he tells her that she may never know what might happen and that she needs to keep it to stay safe.…
Have you ever encountered an absolutely gorgeous, charismatic hunk-of-man who, upon meeting him for the first time, had you convinced every move you'd made in your life, up to that point, led you directly to him? Did you feel strangely alive at the time; nevertheless fearing you might die because you suddenly forgot how to inhale, becoming light-headed due to a lack of oxygen? Initially, you probably fell into a state of panic as your eyes grew wide and your heart pounded painfully in your chest, but just in the knick of time you suddenly remembered you could breathe all on your own. In the days that followed, did you diligently fill every waking moment of your day with thoughts of him, reliving every second of the magic, never wanting to…

I must say, you’ve really come quite a long way from where you started. I was a little weary of you at first. In your early adventures, I found you to be an immature boy with a heart for mischief. Maybe it wasn’t just that you liked trouble, but you always seemed to find yourself in the midst of it. If I were you I would have stayed with the widow.…
I’ve usually learned in hard way because frankly, I love to challenge myself to expand my personal capacity. Although I had already talked to one of my classmates about having interview with her as a Caucasian woman, I decided to do it with my cousin’s friend, Jacob, who I met in my place for the first time during Thanksgiving holidays. Interviewing Jacob about his interactions with other cultures has made me realize that I have a lot to learn about the meaning of the privilege and holding it. Jacob was a 24-year-old Caucasian, who lived in Missouri his entire life. Though he was visiting California for the second time in his life, he was in a Persian house for the first time.…
A Hero's Journey The last month of summer before my junior year started was occupied with pondering and wondering what I wanted to accomplish during the upcoming school year. Sure, junior year sounds like a blast, filled with fun memories and friends. But it also doubles as approaching the cliff of adulthood that I would hit in two short years. Every step I take my junior and senior year will be one step closer to that ledge.…

A hero to me is a person who is courageous, self-sacrificing, and have a deep empathy for the troubles of other people. Heroes do extraordinary selflessness acts above and beyond the call of duty, and beyond that which they signed up for in the first place and they also take a risk to their own safety for the sake of others that no one could reasonably ask them to take. You don't need superpowers or a cape to make a difference, all you need is a willing mind and a willing heart. Jason has all the characteristic of a hero but, he is not someone I would want my younger sister marrying. I am the oldest of three and I am very protective of my siblings.…
She now sees how everything and everyone was affected. “ I allowed my family and community to abandon me while I was drowning. Worst of all I allowed my baby to be abandoned. I abandoned my baby.” This quote is so important to the story, because it shows how the character has grown, and she still is affected by this event in her life.…
