Since one of my hobbies is electronics, I knew I could put my knowledge to work to solve this problem. I began researching with fervor methods of charging iPhones, only to realize I could simply create a portable battery pack. I ended up purchasing a USB car charger. Working with conventional batteries was frustrating as they weren’t an effective unit for power. I searched everywhere for a battery that lasted long yet was still spatially small. Eventually realizing that flashlight batteries could be the solution to my problem, I purchased several and put the batteries in parallel, connecting the leads to the board's terminals. Would my invention work? With shaking hands, I anxiously picked up an iPhone. After plugging it into the board, I heard the familiar chime of the charging notification.
After my setbacks, I now felt successful; yet the battle was only half won. Several days after using the product and recharging, I realized that even though the battery was long-lasting, it was hard to replace and recharge the internal battery in the casing I constructed.
