My heart fell after watching the short video of “Rattan sa pusod ng Sierra Madre”. Jaqueline , at the very young age, is working to provide the needs of her family especially to support the educational needs of her siblings. She works hard every day just to save money for her sister’s upcoming graduation. Harvesting Rattan is not an easy work to do especially she is still underage to work. This work is a dangerous since you will climb up the mountain, cut the vines which also has spikes that can prick on your skin, carry them down the mountain, dry the vines under the sun then sell it.
