Jaqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was best known as the American icon of high style and grace First Lady of the White House. Although her life details tells she was a woman of so much more. On July 28 1929, in Southampton, New York, John and Janet Bouvier gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Born to a wealthy stockbroker and an accomplished equestrian rider. She attended school at Miss Chaplin's School in New York. Although you would not know it by looking at her adult life, she was a child of mischief. She had the opportunity to interview Richard M. Nixon and wrote cover stories on the inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. During the summer of 1951, at a friend's dinner party, she was introduced to John F. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a popular, young congressman from Massachusetts. Although sparks didn't fly right away for them, the two were engaged by 1953. At this time John F. Kennedy was already elected to the U.S. Senate. On September 12, 1953, Jaqueline Bouvier and John F. Kennedy were married. The wedding took place at St. Mary's Church in Newport, Rhode Island. Afterwards the couple took a honeymoon to Mexico. In 1957, Jaqueline and John were blessed with their first child. They had a baby girl that they named Caroline. January of 1960, Senator John F. Kennedy declared his candidacy for the presidency of the United States. He and Jaqueline then traveled all around the country in their campaign journey.
