As I was on my way to their residence I noticed Janey outside of her truck near the intersection of East Main Street and North Winnebago Street. I asked Janey what happened and the first thing she stated was “yeah I hit him take me to jail if you have to”. I again asked Janey what happened and she told me she asked Andrew to clean up the house because it was a mess. She said Andrew got angry and started throwing a fit. Janey said at this point she got into her truck to leave and Andrew followed her still mad about her asking him to clean.

One’s husband or wife could not be accused of rape, as they were protected under spousal immunity. The victim’s sexual history was often examined and used to, in essence, blame them for the crimes committed against them and strip them of their dignity in court. Bill C-127 was passed in 1983, with the objective of redefining rape and indecent assault as violent crimes and changing public perceptions of what defines sexual violence.…
