In Crystal Lake, California, Janet Weiss woke up early, groaning, for she had a case of the Mondays. She searched her thoughts wondering why she woke up at an early hour when Janet realized that this was her first day of work at the hospital. Janet Weiss jumped out of bed and gazed at her reflection in the mirror. “Today, July 8th, is the day that all my hard work pays off; the years of medical school I spent to get here and the commitment I have shown even though my family did not approve this job.” She smiled at the thought. Her parents weren't supportive of her decision to become an oral surgeon. They had always dreamed of their little girl taking over the family business and her revelation felt like a betrayal to Mr. and Mrs. Weiss. I will be working with you in the hospital as an oral surgeon as well, so I thought I would introduce myself. If you have any questions feel free to ask,” Anna said. Janet thanked her and did ask some questions about the job until they reached their section of the hospital. In the waiting room, there were some people who were waiting with impatient faces. “Well, we better get to work,” Janet stated to Anna, smiling.
Nine hours later “That was tiring,” Janet said to Anna. It was now 5:30, which meant it was time to go home for some. "No kidding. After those few people came in, I thought it would be smooth sailing from there. But when 700 more people walked in, I honestly believed I was going to lose my lunch," Anna sighed exaggeratingly while Janet laughed. They continued to talk about work until they reached their cars and said goodnight. On the drive home, Janet replayed the day in her head. For her, even though she was tired, it was honestly a great day. Janet loved the work she was doing and it never mattered to her that her parents did not.
