1. The most important thing that I learned was the fact that UCs and CSUs accept 70 units as the maximum transferable units opposed to 60 units like I thought. I also learned the greatest benefit that comes from this which ultimately all comes down to saving money. The counselor Janet Robinson explained it in terms of price per units, which are pretty cheap at SMC compared to others such as the UCs, CSUs, and especially private universities. I also learned more in depth about the pass and no pass options for classes, although she did emphasize that you can only use this strategy for 12 units in total and that it isn’t advised to use it on major requirements such as math and English.
