This class helped me reflect and access my motives, and thoughts for the past 30 years. This class instructor Janet Prioleau shared professional and personal details for enhancing our homes. Her professional insights included history of periods in design, knowledgede about furnishings, colors, fabrics and paint. Her "trade

The first time, I enrolled in this class, I felt excited knowing this class would help on my grammar, so I can become a better writer. My first thought that cross my mind was this was going to be easy and it was. My last experienced with writing and English was okay because I mainly get a B or a C, but rarely I would get an A. I always been having trouble with grammars. My high school English teachers taught us about grammars and how to become a better writer. It was similar to what you had taught us in class because we always learned about grammar out of a book and we got tested after we been practice.…

My life began to spiral downward before fifth grade began. I found myself an endless loop over summer vacation of waking up, experiencing the day as a blur, sleep, then repeat. This drove me to discover a new way to spend my day. On the television I noticed a recurring advertisement for a game called ‘World of Warcraft’. At first I instilled the mindset that I could spend my time pragmatically but eventually I succumbed to boredom.…

Growing up in a blue collar, middle American, union home has given me the privilege to accomplish many of the goals that I have set forth for myself without much trouble. I grew up in a predominantly caucasian town, with a well funded school system, and was I active in my local congregation, which has impacted the way that I see the world. My parents played an extremely active role in my life and encouraged my siblings and I to work hard and to set high goals for ourselves. They would be critical of our decision making and insisted that we be responsible and finish the goals that we had set for ourselves because quitting was never an option for us. I think that class has always played a critical role in shaping my worldview.…

I took two classes for the summer of 2016, but the Interpersonal Communication class had me worried the most. I had a training with the army, and that required me to absence from school for two weeks. Unlike my other class, I didn’t have a chance to work ahead of the class with the instructor for the two weeks that I would be missing. Therefore, I was worried that I wouldn’t catch up with my classmates and end up failing the class. However, Ms. Anna was generous and extended the assignment due date for me; she even gave me an extra-credit assignment to replace the credits that I missed during my two weeks in training.…

Before I began my Freshman Development Seminar course with Professor Furet, I believed that this class would not be of good use to me. The reason for this was because of my beliefs in self-teaching myself to learn the basics with additional help from other sources. However, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to be. Therefore, I had to pay to get taught what I could have done on my own, at least that is what I convinced myself then and there. Throughout my class sessions with Ms. Furet, I learned more than I could have ever imagined.…
