In many episodes, Janes grandmother went to church and the viewers were aware of this. Janes grandmother even dated a priest for a sometime within the series. There was an episode on Jane’s son 's baptismal and that took place in a church. Jane and Michael were even married within the catholic church. Anyways from many, many episodes, the viewer can determine that church is a very sacred thing for the main characters. Even though in one of the last episodes of the most recent season, Jane was told by her grandmother that if she wants her son to have god in his life she needs to take him to church. So Jane, not wanting to disappoint her grandmother again, not because she actually cares about being catholic, talks about bringing her son to church with her son’s father. Janes sons father says no because he doesn’t want his son to be super religious and Jane just gives in. Once again the viewers were tricked into thinking Jane was a very sweet religious girl who loved god and was a frequent church goer, but instead finds that she really doesn’t care. If Jane was truly religious she would have fought to the end to bring God into her son’s life, but she really is not.
