I Love Pride And Prejudice Essay

When looking for books I mainly focus on the genres. I am a huge fan of romance novels because they take you somewhere new. Most romance novels are of things you know will never actually happen in real life but you dream of them anyway. To me what makes someones work great is being able to relate to it, if the work is so far out that its complete fallacy then it is hard for me to get into reading it. Being in a place that isn 't real can be nice but I prefer to be able to relate to the works on a person level. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite works. It’s very relatable on how people perceive others, we judge someone before we truly know them and that stifles our ability to love. On the other hand, I also love paranormal or mystery novels. When reading these types of novels I am mainly in the young adult genre. I absolutely loved the Blue is for Nightmares novels by Laurie Faria Stolarz, I have actually read a lot of her novels and really enjoy them. I know I said I like relatable novels and clearly something with physic abilities or some aspect of the paranormal is not relatable but these kinds of stories are just so intriguing. I was never really open to speaking, I’m still not, but you have to in this class. Also, I wasn 't really much of a reader of poems or short stories, they just never really appealed to me. I’ve learned to appreciate poems more but some short stories still bother me when they leave you with unanswered questions. I’m not much of a writer, I’ve never really enjoyed it and it stresses me out but I absolutely love to read. I’m hoping that after I graduate I can get a job as a book editor or publisher.
