Each portrait held a special story behind them, that I was just curious to know about. The unique paintings hung around the exhibit all displayed what life was back then. Glancing around the room, I caught sight of a hallway that lead to a rectangular space; filled with columns that in the center had precious masterpieces created from Jan van Eyck, Piero della Francesca, and etc. European Paintings were concealed throughout the whole exhibit; representing the brightly colored glass design.. The exhibits collection varies from Italy, Netherlands, and etc. I was impressed with each and every artwork in the exhibit; the techniques that were used to create such a distinctive piece was mesmerizing. …show more content…
The portrait was from the collection of Gemaldegalerie “The Divine Eros Defeats the Earthly Eros” from 1602. The artist used painting techniques, that enhanced specific details that brings attention to the eyes. Making my way to a gallery called “ Zwinger Old Masters”, I was inquisitive about the crown moulding that was adjacent to the ceiling that was looked quite foreign to me; it looked so elegant with a circular seat that completed the whole look. The variation of the light from the ceiling gave the gallery an appealing appearance. The details of each image portrays the contrast with the shades of the walls

Walking in this museum I was drawn to this exhibit for many reasons. First, the size of the exhibit. Secondly, I wondered why the people were blindfolded, I wondered what statement could the artist be making? The people were almost life size, some of them were standing up straight, others were on their knees, and in various other positions.…

The first section in the exhibition is the Art and Action which is all about artifacts of how people who made them went far beyond the boundaries to make a statement through their creativeness. The next couple of sections were the Art and Knowledge and the Art and Power. The art work in the Art and power section had a couple figures that were a bit scary it was darker than any of the other sections and you just felt that the art pieces…

A visit to a museum is not just about the historical and educational gainings and stimulations, but also about entertainment, luxury and comfort. In an era where people cannot be separated from their smartphones, it is rare to be attracted by something older and traditional. The image plays a dominant role in attracting the public. For most individuals, it is preferable to examine the past while being inside of an exceptional modern environment rather than an old, former home. Thus, it is not about brand, it is about the whole experience, that unfortunately today must be accompanied by all those modern elements that rule people's daily lives and have become a plasmatic necessity.…

The staff conveyed the meaning of the work by displaying a sign on top of that says,Hoard of Jewelry and along the sides there are short descriptions of each piece. The lighting of the room was very bright and the room had windows giving the room natural lighting to view all the display cases of artworks perfectly. There were four to five chairs that were in the middle of each display case for anyone to observe the artworks at a closer distance. The context of the work informed me in a way in which, I understood that the piece was portrayed by researching more about the piece on the Getty Villa website and listening to the iPod touch that gave me a few details about the piece by typing the number 558 in the iPod…

In her 2006 article “The Trouble with (the Term) Art”, Carolyn Dean argues that the using the word “art” for both past visual expressions (particularly nonwestern) does not quite capture the true definition of what these pieces are. This argument is valid, to consider these works as mere entertainment erases a culture’s true history and identity. Dean has a very strong argument for the analysis and retirement of the term “art”, however the ideas surrounding the concept of “art” explain the larger issue as a whole. Carolyn Dean argues that pinning the recent idea of “art” on nonwestern works does not inform one about the culture, but rather condenses that culture into easily defined novelties.…

Although there was not a theme for each exhibition the relation between art pieces was present. It seemed that pieces similar to one another were put next to each other. I belive this was to compliment one another and bring attention to the art that was not as similar. Establishing a relationship between each item displayed is important because the complementary of the items enhances the viewer’s experience and adds importance to the theme (if presents) of the exhibition. Another important strategy to enhance the theme of the exhibition is item placement.…
