My granny Frances McGinnis Wise had possessed the qualities of a hero by being courageous, compassionate, dedicated, loyal, honest, and determined. She showed courage by not being scared of what may come she had stage four colon and liver cancer and stayed strong till the end. I recall the day she found out that her cancer was stage four everyone was over at her house, she cooked a big meal and made sure to stay strong for us when she should have been staying strong for herself. The subject on the assigned essay is, “How do you define a hero?” Well that is easy. One could just run to a bookshelf, pull a dictionary and state, “A hero is a person admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Or perhaps one would define a hero as someone who has superpowers and flies around saving people. What I learned while I was writing this essay was that just because you save someone doesn’t mean you will be a hero. If I save a girl from from falling down they wouldn’t say “ ohh my gosh thank you, you are my hero.” To be a hero you have to help people when you are not a asked you take action before anything worse can happen. To be a hero once you do something extraordinary out of the ordinary you face challenges that will pull you out of the ordinary world and pull you into the special world. Also a hero is a person who may make mistakes but then make them right and who is responsible and…
