Celebrity Chef, Jamie Oliver is in town! Well, at least his Italian restaurant chain, aptly titled, Jamie’s Italian, is. Founded in Oxford in 2008, the culinary empire has swiftly expanded to more than 40 restaurants worldwide, and the latest instalment just opened its doors in September of 2014, on King William Street, in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. The 19 months that have passed since the restaurant’s opening, clearly haven’t lessened its hype, as the uneventful Tuesday evening when I payed my visit, was as packed as I can only imagine it would have been on the first night. I hoped and indeed now realise, that that was the first sign of good things to come. …show more content…
Located in one of the city’s oldest buildings, the interior retains much of the building’s original finishes, including brass fittings and fixtures that pay tribute to its former life as the historic Westpac Bank. The lofty ceilings and equally as magnificent windows set the tone of the restaurant’s splendid grandeur. But it is the warm lighting, the ambient music and the wafting aroma of fresh herbs and homemade pasta from the kitchen that preserve Jamie’s renowned rustic

For our course project, my restaurant of choice was the Red Lobster located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Red lobster is one of the world’s most famous casual/family seafood restaurants. It has been a staple of downtown Silver Spring’s eclectic dining community for more than 15 years. Interestingly enough, in all the years I’ve been dining at red lobster, I’ve never really given any consideration about what happens behind the scenes and the day-to-day operations. Luckily, after interviewing the manager, Harrison Shea, I’ve a better appreciation for just how challenging working in the restaurant industry can be.…

This is seen through the design of the store fronts and restaurant patios (refer to appendix 4). It was quite noticeable that the patio designs of restaurants and coffee shops all followed a very neutral, raw, distressed look in order to flow with the design of the district. This was done even if the exterior of the shop did not match the theme on the inside, but many of the stores interior followed the old rustic feel of the district (refer to appendix 5). Visually the Distillery district is very pleasing. This is due to the abundance of stores and shops which run along the inner streets of the district.…

Established in 2011 and with a TripAdvisor Award of Excellence since, BurgerFi, a fast-food chain located in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, has grown a sizeable following for its eco-friendly design and menu. After spending a long rainy day inside, my family and I decided to beat our boredom by visiting BurgerFi, a new burger restaurant that had opened a while back in our neighborhood, for lunch. We were all enthusiastic and hungry to finally try out the new burger restaurant after having to always resort to Shake Shack or Five Guys, both of which are a considerable distance from our house compared to the few blocks from BurgerFi. At the first glance, the whole restaurant gives off a strong Shake Shack feel because of its atmosphere…
