(Topic Sentence) It’s no easy job for anyone to get up and clear their mind when bullies envelop their entire surrounding. (Background Information) Jamie Nabozny, a former student from a small Wisconsin community, had to deal with a set term of bullying because of his sexual orientation. His school did not serve as an asylum, as he repeatedly got abused by the same bullies throughout his education career. Despite the fact that his principals and school administrators knew of his situation, they never spoke up for him or even took his side. Consequently, this led to multiple occasions of him wanting to flee. (Attention Grabbing Strategy) As he was isolated in his room, he begged desperately saying, “Please, please, tell me I won’t wake up tomorrow if I take this pill.” These words were filled with passionate emotion and to his dismay he thought his life would always be like this. In hopes for a way to escape this horror, he decided that it was time to take a stand. (Thesis Statement) In the …show more content…
For many alike, no one wants to be treated as a plastic bag that gets drifted far and far from an exciting reality because of a group of ruthless teenagers. For instance, Jamie Nabozny had suffered a dreary journey as he was threatened by bullies constantly throughout junior high and even during high school. However, after all the abuse he received he never gave up and showed others that he was confident. (Restate Thesis Statement) He was able to patiently withstand the piercing torments he heard and even had the opportunity to show them that he was not someone so easy to get rid of.
