The first settlement I created was Jamestown, and I placed Jamestown right by the water, so when the boat arrived back from England with new supplies, it would have a settlement right there to unload food, tools, and more people. Jamestown would be the settlement for docks, fishing, and fisherman. From history class, I learned that the real Jamestown colony was settled right by the water also, in hopes of allowing the Jamestown colony to thrive.
