Crick was working in a Cavendish lab in Britain. Ever since their encounter, they have been working together. They both were very interested in DNA Structure, so they collaborated together to solve The Double-Helix of DNA Structure in 1953, with help from Maurice Wilkins. They did not actually figure out the DNA Structure until their second attempt, which took them two years. Watson went on to write a book about their discovery, which he named “The Double Helix: A Personal Account of the Discovery of the Structure of DNA” Solving the Double-Helix was a humongous deal. Due to their discovery, they received 3 Nobel Prizes. He won the John Collins Warren Prize of the Massachusetts General Hospital with Francis Crick, The Lasker Award with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins & The Nobel Prize Award with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins. Watson was the person who got to keep the Nobel Prize Award, but he ended up selling it because he had no use for it anymore. A billionaire bought his award for 4.1 million

Berg’s gene-splicing experiment resulted in the first man-made recombinant DNA (rDNA); as such molecules came to be called. The award ceremony for Berg’s 1980 Nobel Prize in chemistry, shared with Walter Gilbert and Frederick Sanger. The significance of this discovery that it layed the ground work for every discovery to come after this one happened because of this first landmark achievement, but the groups second achievement on the back bone of this one did not come emidiatly largely because of the self imposed waiting time that the group placed on themselves knowing full well the risks of public backlash at their discovery which is why the group did not go ahead and put recombinant DNA into a living cell rite away until they went and got ethical clearance from Stanford university which they did need but got away way. This gesture is significant not because of its contribution to science itself but rather it is one the finest examples of self regulation in science or scientific history. The next step in recombinant dna development was the insertion of and recombinant dna strand…

Watson is a biologist and Crick was a physicist. Both researchers used the data pioneered by other scientists about DNA and proposed the three dimensional structure by joining the puzzles, which were never sorted out before (Pray, 2008). Due to the same reasons, the whole discovery of the double helix can be divided into four main stages. 1. The discovery of DNA and its identification as a genetic material 2.…
