James Torres Research Paper

September 14, 2529, in Corvallis, Oregon. James Torres was born. Seven pounds eleven ounces and twenty inches long. He was the son of Paul and Anjelique Torres. James was a beautiful baby with great parents, but there was one problem. He was born with a cleft lip. A cleft lip is a split on your lip or in other words it is when you are born with a missing part of your lip. The doctors told Paul and Anjelique that the cleft lip was minor and could be fixed by plastic surgeons. They were relieved when they heard the news. Paul and Anjelique truly loved their son, and since they really loved him they made a promise they wanted their son to be safe as possible and did not want him to get in sports and things that could harm him. He was very nervous, his heart was pounding like crazy. He went out and went 0-4 with three strikeouts and one error. He thought he was the worst player out on the field. James had a cousin who lived in Salem, Oregon. His cousin's name was Apollo Castillo. He absolutely knew everything about baseball, James knew that if he went to him he could become probably the best baseball player in the city. Apollo was 30 years old and six foot two and was pretty strong. James and his father drove all the way down to Salem and sure enough he learned a ton about baseball from Apollo. When James got back to Corvallis he could not wait for his next baseball game coming up. Finally his next game came up, he was very excited and confident. He went 4-4 with two doubles one triple and one single, he also had two runs batted in with three runs. He looked like the best player out there. If it weren't for Apollo James would not have been an extremely good athlete. As the games went by James just got better and better. James was invited to all-star try-outs during the summer but he could not afford to pay off the fee and the trips, and besides James wanted to enjoy the summer and go to Seattle Mariners games and be with
