“Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the on the path the best things that will ever happen to us” -unknown. Some people think that bad things that happen are bad and will never get good. But that is how James Naismith invented basketball. Now basketball has evolved into a sport that tons of people adore, and now is evolving more and more. It started with finding scraps from other sports and has turned into a sport. Plus now there are jobs that are manufacturing products for this sport that started out very small, in a school gymnasium.

How was basketball created
It was 1891, A winter day in Springfield, Massachusetts. Which depending on the day is about 15 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. There was a Physical Education teacher named James Naismith, he wanted to have a class outdoors. Unfortunately, it was too cold outside. It wasn’t not just too cold it was going to snow as well. Naismith decided to make up a game for his students to play on this cold, winter day. He took two peach baskets and cut a hole in each. Next he hung them both on a pole. He told the kids to try and get the ball into the hoop! He tried to find a game for the kids in his gym class, he didn’t know it was going to turn into a sport known around the world!

The first game was on November 7, 1896, if you participated in any basketball game you would receive $15. The highest paid player was named Fred Cooper who received $16 a game. The first true game Trenton YMCA won 15-1. In 1946 the National Basketball League was created! It took off right
