(Biographic Sketch) James Madison Jr. was born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. His father, James Madison Sr., was a wealthy Virginia plantation owner, an educator, and an Enlightenment scholar who served as the President of the College William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. His mother, Nelly Conway Madison, was the daughter of a prominent planter and tobacco merchant Francis Conway. James Madison Jr., was the one of twelve children, however only six of his siblings survived adolescence. Therefore, I interviewed three individuals; one from each of the following groups: students, faculty, and foreigners. The first person interviewed was Melanie, herein referred to as “A”; she is a 19 year old female who was born in Arizona, a sophomore college student pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, and claimed to have medium knowledge of the Constitution. The second person interviewed was Heather, herein referred to as “B”; she is a 52 year old female who was born in New Jersey, a teacher with a Master’s Degree and an interest in pursuing law, and claimed to be familiar with the Constitution. The third person interviewed was Dahgay, herein referred to as “C”; she is a 25 year old female student who was born in Burma, she has is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, and claimed to have very little knowledge of the Constitution.

Constitution being low prior to actually conducting research. I knew various information stated within the document such as Congress makes laws, the speaker of the house is third in line for Presidency in the absence of both President and Vice President, Congress maintains a congressional record, and Presidential qualifications. The most important factor I knew was the Constitution is a living document due to its ability to be amended based on issues of our time. After researching and examining the document, I have realized that I knew more about the Constitution than I originally perceived. However, the additional information I realized I knew was learned throughout life situations or law enforcement related television shows such as Law and Order. I have learned an immense amount of information while studying the Constitution. I would basically type two-thirds of the document if I needed to explain exactly what I learned. More importantly, I learned about the people, events, and ideals that contributed to the creation of the Constitution. Therefore, I have a better understanding and appreciation for the importance of the Constitution. I believe the Constitution is the single most important document to be written and used in U.S. history. It is amazing to consider a document written over 200 years ago is still being used today in society, not only by the government but by the people as
