In my opinion, James K. Polk does not deserve a high ranking for his presidency. According to Lindgren, James K. Polk averaged well above 4.0 on a 5.0 point scale. This study resulted from a survey of 78 scholars who ranked James K. Polk as the 10th best president (Lindgren 3). James K. Polk was elected as the eleventh President of the United States in 1844. According to the video, he was known as the dark horse of the election. James K. Polk was a Democrat and was from Tennessee. Even though he was known as a hard worker and accomplished all his goals, his actions as President does not qualify him as a high ranked President. After doing research on James K. Polk, I think what defines James K. Polk’s low ranking was his fulfillment
