Doolittle has accomplished many achievements but only a few made him famous and a war hero in the aeronautical field. One of those famous achievements is that he as a commander and pilot was behind the attack against Tokyo which really helped in the war against Japan which we gained respect from that situation since Japan was responsible for the attack of Pearl Harbor. James H. Doolittle actually made a new aircraft fuel called octane 100 gasoline and made a lot of navigation instruments for the aircraft there's a list of achievements that James H. Doolittle got- Distinguished Flying Cross, Mackey Trophy, Schneider Cup, Harmon Trophy, Bendix Trophy, Thompson Trophy, Medal of Honor, Tony Jannus Award, Presidential Medal of Freedom, 2 distinguished service medals, the silver star, 3 distinguished flying crosses, The bronze star, four air medals, and decorations from multiple countries, Public welfare medal and United States military academy's Sylvanus Thayer Award. James H. Doolittle did have some downfalls like the Great Depression and his wife dying in 1988 five years before her husband so he was a widow for years until his death
