People in the military chose to sign up to defend our country, and I think because those people chose that way of life, other citizens who are not in the military don’t think about their well being or their opinions towards the war. We think you chose to be signed under our government, and what they say you do, that is what you have to do, and that is it. Fallows, refers to this generation as “Chickenhawk Nation.” He means that we, the people of America, are extremely eager to go to war, just as long as someone else is doing it, meaning the military. Also, Fallows mentions how overfunded the military is. They are always coming up with new weapons that cost an extremely huge amount of money. He mentions pensions in the military. I agree, on the price of their pensions, they risk their lives for us, so they deserve the money they get.
