Although some say it is not right to judge a person in any way, and I do understand that some people do try their hardest not to judge a person on any accord, it is, in all honesty, just human nature to judge a person based on their apparent qualities and actions. We see it happen all the time with things like skin color, height, weight, and the way you dress. Have you ever seen someone dressed in jeans, a flannel, and cowboy boots, and automatically assumed they either came from the South, or possibly from an area nearby where farms were more prominent? Most people have. Or, for example you see someone where nice dressy clothes, and you immediately assume they come from a higher class family? This happens all the time, almost anywhere. Being a tall person myself, people constantly ask me if I play basketball, just because I’m a little tall. People generalize about others, it’s just in their nature. It isn’t always a bad thing.
Overall, People have always assumed and judged about other people. James Baldwin has many good points in his essay about “black language” that I can completely agree with. Now, just because a person makes an assumption about another person doesn’t always make it a bad thing, just be sure that the generalization doesn’t go too
