James Altucher is an American best-selling author. He has written and published eleven books so far. Many of Altucher’s writing have appeared in publications such as the Financial times, Wall Street Journal, and the Forbes. James Altucher wrote a book in 2011 called I Was Blind but Now I see reached number one in Amazon.com’s motivational books section in 2011. USA Today also named Altucher’s Choose Yourself among the twelve best business books of all time. James Altucher is a very successful writer today. Altucher have not been a very successful writer in his early years. In 2004 Altucher wrote the book called Trade like a Hedge Fund. When the book came out it was very controversial. They of course wouldn’t consider it. The book did so poorly after-all. He had to write a 60 page proposal. Once it was written he would send it out to twenty different editors, including the one he really wanted to work with. He wanted to work with Hollis Heimbouch at Harper Collins. He thought it would be a perfect fit for her because of the books she previously edited. Other writers have told James that she was fantastic to work with. He has done his research. She received the proposal, and unsurprisingly she rejected it. Altucher couldn’t believe that she rejected his proposal. Pretty soon all the rest of the editors rejected his books. He got in touch with Hollis to find out why she rejected his book. Her reasoning was because it sounded like something from Wikipedia. She thought the ideas were good, but the writing needed to be better. James Altucher agreed. Eventually the WSJ stepped in and agreed to purchase the book. Hollis and Harper finally decided to edit Altucher’s book. The book was called The Wall Street Journal Guide to Investing for the Apocalypse. The main idea of his book is how the media tries to scare you all the time with new horror stories every week. The media would use stories about pandemics, global warming, nuclear terrorism, and so on. The book focuses on every way the world can end, and how you can profit from it as much as
