Jamba Juice is healthful food and juice bar that specializes in nutritious and healthy drinks and snacks. It was first operated in California in the 1990’s by Kirk Perron whom was a cyclist looking to embark on a business for those who had a healthy snack in mind after a long bike ride. If a new juice bar were to open near Old Dominion University, the juice market SWOT analysis follows as such: strengths and weaknesses internally and opportunities and threats externally. The strengths of Jamba Juice are that first, the brand is known because of its many locations so it is popular. Secondly, the idea of healthy food choice is a current trend and appeals to the healthy lifestyle. Lastly, the demographic area is ideal for increased sales and is geared toward people ages 15-25 who are educated. This coincides with the social …show more content…
Secondly, expanding on the health trend and appealing to the booming amounts of health conscious customers. Lastly, expanding the market entering into the fast food chain with good for you foods. Technologically opportunities will increase if they are able to expand on technology to package and sell fresh produce drinks. Regulatory will contribute to maintain taxes to obtain fresh produce while staying true to nutrition principles that have to be followed. Finally, Jamba Juice threats, first competition, competing with well-known places on campus such as Starbucks who have been established longer and offer other preferred drinks, Tropical smoothie that has been on campus longer, Einstein Bros Bagels (also coffee), and the juice bar located in the SRC, which provides healthy drinks to its students inside of the facility.
