Governor O’Malley started his speech off by declaring his respect and appreciation for the True Islam Campaign which Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has admirably sponsored. The campaign was launched in December 2015 and its main goal was to inform Americans, both Non-Muslims and Muslims, on the religious teachings of Islam. Then he Addressed the Muslims that were present in the audience, and stated, “The True Islam campaign is a gift. It underscores the freedom of conscience, religion, charity, kindness, and generosity to strangers. These values have been demonstrated the world over by you.” His message was accepted with great appeal and helped underline the many positive contributions of Muslim Americans.
Another important speech was given by a former U.S. Marine, Ted Hakey, Jr. In November 2015, Ted Hakey Jr. realized how misinformed he was on the Muslim community, his misconceptions lead him to shoot at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s mosque in Connecticut. After this event, the mosque leadership announced their forgiveness of Ted Hakey Jr. actions. As a result, Ted Hakey Jr. became close friends with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He continued to share his sentiments at the guest session and he summarized that “Forgiveness, education, and Grace of God will overcome hatred every single
