A rivalry that extends all the way back to 1901 has traditionally been played on the third Saturday in October. From 1928 until 1992, the Alabama-Tennessee game was played on the third Saturday of this month but has lately been playing on a different week.
For the fourth consecutive weekend, the 9th ranked Tennessee Volunteers are slotted for the 3:30 prime time CBS kick-off with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson on the call. And for the fourth straight game, the Vols will face-off against an SEC top 25 opponent. Winning two of the three games so far, their lone loss coming last weekend in College Station.

Jalen Hurts QB- Somehow Nick Saban decided to give the starting job to a true freshman. Hurts hasn 't lead his head coach down so far in his young collegiate career. In six games this season, Hurts has thrown for 1242 yards (207 yards per game) and has tossed 9 touchdowns. Hurts has also showcased his talent of being able to be a threat in the run game. He has 62 rushes on the season, more than any other player on the team, while also leading the team with 5 touchdown rushes. With a talented front seven of Tennessee, Hurts ability to make plays outside the pocket will be the difference maker on Saturday.
2. Ryan Anderson LB- Through the first six games of his senior campaign, the 6-foot-2 253 pound linebacker has clearly played his best ball since arriving on campus. Anderson has established himself to be one of the most lethal pass-rushers, not only for Alabama but one of the best around the country. He leads the Crimson Tide defense this year with 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Josh Dobbs QB- It 's simple. Dobbs must play a full 60-minute football game to defeat Alabama. The senior has struggled throwing the football this season, completing only 58.3% of his passes, but has thrown for 300-plus yards twice this season.. However, Dobbs has had success against the Crimson Tide in recent years. In 2014 the sophomore propelled a marvelous comeback after entering as the Vols quarterback in the third series of the game. Trailing 27-0 mid-way through the second, Dobbs led scoring drives of 10, 11, and 15 plays to produce 17 unanswered points and had Tennessee back in the game. He ran for 75 yards and threw for 192 yards to go along with two scores that game. From there on out, he has been the Vols signal caller.
