Jakel Trading Sdn.Bhd is a family business based. A long time ago, the late Mohamed Jakel Bin Ahmad has started his small retail business in Muar, Johor in 1983 as a carpet wholesale supplier to small traders around the vicinity of Muar. The company is carrying JAKEL TRADING as a trademark to its textile business to win over customers. Started with a minimum capital investment of RM30,000, Mohamed Jakel later has expanded the business to Segamat, where the empire started to break people's eyes that Jakel is a dominant player in its category. After that, Jakel expand its operations by venturing into semi-wholesaler as well as supplying textiles to the government agencies and private sectors in 1992, to the additional capital

Through the experience he gained he has contributed significantly to the growth and expansion of Jakel group’s business. He was convinced that more people would buy textiles than carpets and managed to convince his father to switch into the textile business. That advice had helped to change the course of Jakel’s business direction and the many opportunities that came its way. When the patriarch of the Jakel group passed away in 2009, Mohamed Faroz, who was 37 years old then, took over the helm as the group managing director and chief executive officer and went on to build Jakel as one of the most recognised brands in textile retailing. In order to expanding their business overseas, they need to create a special team to do a research and study about the country lifestyle and cultures. This is because their strategy in home country may succesful but might be fail in host country. PEST analysis in host country are also need to be done to make sure their business will be going well. This is because based on google search, country like China is one of a country that biggest in fabric ejection. Moreover, they need take a lesson from Disneyland mistake where their strategy are not suitable with the country's
