The Untold Story of Jake Rogers

I don’t how to explain Jake Rogers, but we all knew there was something different about him. It all started one day he just didn’t seem like himself. No one knew; girl trouble, grades, problems at home, we didn’t have a clue. About a month goes by and one night he called all the guys up and said he found a place for a bonfire. Tyler and I just thought he was back to normal; we were wrong. We all hopped in our trucks and headed down to Elsberry, were Jake had found a maze of tunnels in the side of a rock wall. It went for miles into the side of a hill, it was pitch black with parts leading to a swamp along with huge holes everywhere.

Matt, Tyler, Justin, and I all parked the trucks on the side of the road hopped the fence and walked to the mouth of the tunnel. There was a note on a stick that was stuck in the ground. It read “Somewhere in the tunnels you will find me sitting around a bonfire, now all you have to do is find me. Good Luck.” With that the boys and I set out trying to find him. About that time I heard footsteps around me. I was ready for a fight, one of us was making it out, and I was hoping it was me. All of a sudden the footsteps got closer and closer. Then I heard Matt calling my name but I didn't answer just in case Jake was behind him. Matt kept calling my name but I never answered him. After about 10 minutes of dead silence Jake’s voice came through the darkness, I couldn't make out what he said but it didn’t sound good.
