The Jail Education Program is a District Contract Agreement between the Dallas County Sheriff Department and Dallas Community College which has been in effect since 1972.
Secular educational programs are provided to ensure inmates/students have an opportunity to participate in Basic Skills Classes which will assist them in achieving their High School Equivalency, Personal Enrichment Classes to assist them in their reentry into the community, and Technical Skills Classes to aid them in gaining employment upon release.
These courses are provided by El Centro College, and offer an array of classes from Basic Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers, Digital Imaging, Introduction to Graphic Arts and Print
