Jadzea Tully Case Study

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm I recommend Jadzea Tully. Independent and conscientious, Jadzea is a well-rounded student with a gentle way and admirable concern for others. A quiet and mature individual, Jadzea is well liked by peers and faculty alike. She is well mannered, intelligent and a positive role model for all. Throughout her high school career, Jadzea has shown admirable determination. Jadzea is a young woman that has grown in academics and in life. Over the years she has developed a greater understanding of her strengths and weaknesses as a learner. She takes academics seriously and is truly interested in the material that is presented. Jadzea is certain about continuing her studies and has focused on determining the direction of her future studies. I do not believe Jadzea’s grades are a true reflection of her ability and potential. There are circumstances in all of our lives that can cause one to lose focus and balance; for Jadzea family life was a factor which may have caused her to lose focus. Many students have to deal with their parent’s …show more content…
One of her proudest accomplishments came from her involvement with the team. Her cheerleading team made it to The Summit national competition in Disneyworld. They may not have won the competition, but the life lessons learned getting there are priceless and memorable. It’s her proudest accomplishment because the team dedicated numerous hours working hard perfecting their routine to reach their goal. To be eligible to attend the competition, a first place win was required in a different competition. The team began working over the summer to be ready for competition by winter. When they won first place and were eligible to go to Summit they began working on another goal, which was the funding for the trip to the competition in Disney. They worked as a team, and supported each other and achieved their

My realization materialized when Professor Jovanovic discussed her daily routine and how much she accomplished in a day, which subsequently made me realize I need to start implementing some of these strategies. My A-Ha moment happened due in part to meeting Professor Jovanovic for the first time. My first impression of her was “wow this women is confident, unapologetic and takes no crap from anyone”. After my initial impression of her bold personality, I was overcome with jealousy. I thought to myself “why can't I be that confident in myself”.…

Why are you interested in ASB? What do you hope to gain from this experience? I want to participate in ASB because it would allow me to help people I normally would not come into contact with. In Biddeford there have been women that were well- known in many different ways, from a journalist, to mayors, to a woman who created a women's association in Biddeford. Although this person may not have done any of these things or is the most famous or well known woman in Biddeford history, she is someone I have looked up to every single day since I was born, my mom, Kerry Mariello. Although she didn't have as large impact on Biddeford history with her actions as others, she is just as inspiring and holds some of the same skills as those who did. This is why I believe she should belong in the same category as these amazing other Biddeford women.…

Baseball has taught me more life lessons than I could ever imagine. Baseball is one of the most challenging games due to the fact it is a sport of failure. How can one fail seven out of ten times and still be considered exceptional? A three out of ten in most applications of life is very poor, however in baseball, succeeding three times out of ten is considered excellent. However, one still manages to fail seven times!…

Throughout my educational career I have had several great teachers. To choose my best teacher is difficult for me since each teacher was for a different course and they had a unique personality and style of teaching. Overall, I would have to choose Mr. Poska as my best teacher (not necessarily my favorite teacher). I took AP Calculus I & II with him during my junior year of high school, then I took Calculus III with him in my senior fall semester. I also happened to have him as my junior and senior advisor during Connect.…

When I was in third grade, I was accepted into the Gifted And Talented Education program, otherwise known as GATE. My parents and I were ecstatic for such a wonderful opportunity, but little did I know, their expectations of me grew. Subsequently, I increasingly became afraid of failure and disappointment from those around me. Despite being a rather playful and active child, I was very quiet and introverted in class, terrified of being ousted as rowdy by the teacher. It wasn’t until middle school that I finally broke out of my bubble and became who I am today.…

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…

Everything now a day is based off number, whether it’s ones SAT scores, standardized test scores, or most importantly, ones GPA. College students, and even High school strive to reach a perfect four point zero semesters, or even acquire high honor roll. Unfortunately, according to John Taylor Gatto, and his article “Against School”, achieving that perfect semester, or making high honor roll, doesn’t always translate to receiving a honest education, but rather just schooling. On the other hand, Kristina Rizga, the author of the article “Everything you’ve heard about failing school is wrong” paints the picture of a non-fictional, academically bright character that lacks when it comes to standardize testing. Using Gatto as a basis of comparison,…

As any student knows, grades are reflective of their accomplishments in a given class. However, grades mean much more to students than whether they know the material or not. Grades mean whether or not someone will get into their college of choice, whether or not they have to retake that class they had failed as a result of an emotional semester, whether or not they are hired for a position against someone who graduated with a higher grade-point average (GPA). Students are under more duress than ever to be academically excellent because of the mounting pressure in the American education system. This pressure is due to GPA inflation and expectations of above-average academic performance.…
