Jada had become tired and she put the magazine down. The sofa in the den was so huge and comfortable she fell asleep.

“Who would want to have a child with you?” He laughed.
“I thought we would get married and have a child.”
He scoffs, “I’m not marrying you. We’re just kicking it.” He looks at her with disdain, “I would NEVER marry you or want a kid with you. Look at you now. You’re too big and if you have a kid, you’ll get bigger.”

She began to cry, “Why are you saying that!”
“That you’re fat? Because it’s true.”
“Clarke, you’re being mean.”
He shrugs his shoulder, “Whatever.”

She begins to cry. He says, “Oh…Just shut up!”
She shouts out in torment, “STOP IT! STOP IT! YOU’RE CRUEL!!”
He grabs her hard, “JADA…”

“JADA! JADA!” She can feel arms on her shoulders shaking her.

Then hands shake her gently, “Baby, baby! Wake up.”
Jada comes awake startled. She focuses and realizes its Maxwell.
She hurls herself into his arms.

She holds on to him tight and does the same to her. Jada begins to cry.
Maxwell rubs her back up and down softly. He is such a source of comfort now. She hadn’t had a nightmare in a few weeks. The last time she did, she refused to go back to
