The family is the bedrock of all social fraternisation's. Instituted for companionship, friendship, enjoyment, procreation, dominion, etc; the family rightly the oldest of all institutions is very important in the administration of God’s purpose on earth and that is why it’s under constant attack by the devil.

As noted earlier, Jacob played the role of the man, husband and father. Though he was first a man before he became a husband and father, we shall start by examining his role as a husband. Jacob in discharging his duties as a husband was active in providing conjugal love to the wives. There was no lost love between him and the wives. There should be love and affection between the husband and his wife. And one of the ways to demonstrate love in a marital relationship is sharing of life by the couples through sexual intercourse.
Sex is beautiful and a wonderful creation of God approved under marital boundaries. The husband and wife perform the function of procreating new life through the act of sex. They resemble God in the discharge of this duty. After God created Adam and Eve He mandated them to replicate this function. Thus man is God’s agent in creating new lives.
