Jacob's Influence On Jacob

Decent Essays
It is clear that Theo has been greatly influenced growing up by Jacob in good and bad ways. Theo always talks about how his mom is caring for Jacob and how he often feels forgotten. One story he was telling was when Theo had a big plan to go the 3D movies witch he never gets to do because of money. This plan is all foiled because Jacob needs to go the library to get more books. Theo was of course frustrated and had a huge fit and got in trouble. I felt bad for Theo because his whole life revolves around Jacob and he never gets to do anything he wants. Theo has also been affected in a beneficial way too. He is now very independent and can deal with issues very well. On page 276 Theo finishes his homework and ask, “Is there anything I can do”.

I’ve usually learned in hard way because frankly, I love to challenge myself to expand my personal capacity. Although I had already talked to one of my classmates about having interview with her as a Caucasian woman, I decided to do it with my cousin’s friend, Jacob, who I met in my place for the first time during Thanksgiving holidays. Interviewing Jacob about his interactions with other cultures has made me realize that I have a lot to learn about the meaning of the privilege and holding it. Jacob was a 24-year-old Caucasian, who lived in Missouri his entire life. Though he was visiting California for the second time in his life, he was in a Persian house for the first time.…

The minister had been shut out from society, therefore became too close to his own and others’ sins. Hawthorne relates Mr. Hooper to agonizing souls, creating an image of anguish that follows the minister around wherever he goes. The minister believes that it was right to focus on one’s own sins and atone for them while the rest of society avoids their own sins. The beliefs of the people contrast with those of Mr. Hooper which is the reason that the minister is constantly judged for showing his own guilt while the rest of the town judges him, not focusing on their own sins. Separation from society is caused by rumors and judgement based on different beliefs as shown by Mr. Hooper’s struggle with the rest of the town to combat rumors about his veil.…
