Name Story
Jackson. I do not know where it comes from or why I was given this name. In English my name means the son of Jack. However, I am not the son of a Jack and have no relatives with this name. I decided to solve the mystery and asked my parents how they chose Jackson. It seems it was the result of a compromise. My father wanted Atticus (because he admired Atticus Finch), and my mother liked Logan, because she thought it was unique. They both liked the sound of Jackson. They also thought it would provide with some options to grow into. I could be Jackson or Jack. However, they didn't plan on some people calling me Jax. To people meeting me for the first time, I am Jackson McKieran. Almost nobody sees the extra n in my name. The same

I share the house with a mother, a father, a sister, and a dog. This house was more than we thought we'd get. We live two blocks from town, live close to my friends, and don’t have to lose money on rent. We can walk outside without hearing cars and beeping constantly. Our back yard holds humongous trees that tower over the house. At first, we started with a plain back yard and later added a jungle gym with a swing set soon after arriving. The texture of the outside of the house resembles sandpaper and is the feature that usually first catches your eye. Many people find it to be unique. As you walk through the door, the smell of dinner is instantly recognized. There is always something good to eat whether it is chicken noodle soup or tacos. After I finish my homework, I find myself lying on the couch with dinner in front of me. The large number of stairs makes it hard for Nana to go from floor to floor. We also live pretty far away from most of our relatives. My aunt lives in California, Nana lives in Pennsylvania, my cousins live in New Jersey and Grandpa lives in Long …show more content…
Whether it is in town or at a skate park, we find time to skate together whenever we can. Over text, we coordinate times where we are all free. We meet up the local park and decide our plans from there. If we are not going to a skate park, our first goal is to find a good skate spot within town. It is usually at the grammar school. We spend some time skating this spot until we get bored of it. We will usually get something to eat in town around lunch time. The smell of pizza fills the air as we open the door to the pizzeria. Depending on what I feel like eating, I will get a Jamaican beef patty or a chicken parm roll. I have never seen a Jamaican beef patty in another restaurant. If my friends and I decide to go to a skate park, one of our parents will provide a ride. As we enter the park, all I hear are many wheels rolling across the pavement. The first thing that catches my eye are the massive half pipes and the skate pool. As I am waiting to ride a ramp, my friends and others amaze me and challenge me to match their tricks. Time flies as hours pass while we skate. When it starts to get dark, we all decide to go home. The burns and bruises usually take a week to heal before we skate again. I learn a new trick almost every time I go to a skate
