After the description of his father, I disagree with Jack’s statement. His father did have an impact on him because family always impacts children. Jack states “my father finds interpersonal stuff stressful” (Garrod, 2012, p. 181). Jack also finds interpersonal stuff stressful. Interpersonal is a skill for building relationships or communication between people. The entire chapter revolves around how Jack has a difficult time trying to talk to others about how he truly feels. Since his father never taught him about communicating or building trust with others, Jack just grew up thinking it was fine to be that way. Jack’s father’s occupation is being in human resources. That is job were you are in contact with people and there issues all day.
