When I was younger, I was able to be completely honest with some of my close friends by telling them how I truly felt and looking them in their eyes if we were having a face-to-face conversation. However, due to the advancements in technology, I found myself having scarcer face-to-face conversations. As a result, I grew more comfortable talking and being open with my friends through technology, such as text messages. Today, I still struggle with opening up to my friend without having to type out my feelings. Therefore, I’ve started to repress my feeling and keep them to myself instead of burdening my friends with long messages to read since I was too uncomfortable to say them out loud. I now recognize that my behavior is unhealthy and possibly detrimental to not only my mental health but also my social skills. Nonetheless, I continue to engage in the behavior but I also work on being able to say some of the things that I am afraid to state
