Jackie's Gun: A Narrative Fiction

It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. “Alex,” my father hollered up the stairs, “it’s for you. It’s Jackie, and she sounds upset,” As I came downstairs to pick up the phone, I was not happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice quiet evening at home, not another stupid adventure with Jackie. Thirty minutes later, however, Jackie’s silver Mustang convertible swung into our driveway, and Jackie was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing my coat from the couch, I walked out my front door with all the enthusiasm of a man going to stand before a firing squad. Jackie slowly opened the door to Jackie handing him a gun. “What’s this?” I murmured while putting the gun in his waist. “Just …show more content…
“I was walking in the bank yesterday,” Jackie whispered quietly. “I noticed a lot of vulnerable spots and all their cameras were very visible. They didn’t even try to hide them.” “So... what is this supposed to mean then”? I asked even though I already knew the answer. We have approximately 13 minutes before the cops will show up. Got it?” Jackie explained very …show more content…
“Oh my god we’re screwed.” I cried out. “Oh don’t be such a baby.” Jackie said while laughing. She pulled out a gun, rolled down the window and started firing at the police. She managed to blow the wheel of the first car which caused a domino effect on the other two. “Wow, this is a lot more fun than I had anticipated!” Jackie laughed out with a giant grin on her face. “Why is this so amusing to you?” I screamed out. “We’re about to be caught and put in jail for like, ever!” “You think I didn’t have a backup plan?” Jackie addressed. “This is only the very beginning, to the biggest heist in the entire world!” She screamed while laughing uncontrollably. Jackie zoomed through the side streets turning left and right and left and right until we finally reached a dead end. “What now?” I asked. “We’re at a dead end and the cops are on our tails.” “You think I didn’t have a backup plan for this situation.” Jackie angrily spit out. “I’ve been planning this heist for over 4 months, targeting specific locations, with specific escape paths. I’m not that
