Jackie was not only for being the first Black man in the mlb but for not fighting back with people when they were violent and mean to him. Branch Rickey told him he was not looking for someone who had the courage to fight back he was looking for someone with enough courage to not fight back.
After leaving the dodgers Jackie became a business executive and was still involved in the civil rights movement. On October 24 1972 Jackie Robinson died fat age 83 from diabetes related causes. Jackie became the first African American to be inducted into the baseball hall of fame.
