I don’t try to act as too much of a cliche but I can say that I have been overcoming an obstacle for at least three years now. I attend a predominantly caucasian and hispanic institution with only about 20 kids of my ethnicity. I am also a choice student meaning that I attend their school even though I live in a different town. The obstacle I overcome almost everyday and have been for the last three years is representing my culture. Jackie Robinson went into the MLB as the only of his kind and did outstanding things. I see the 20 African American children in my school as the one and only Jackie Robinson who could come to this environment and do better than at least most of our peers. I strive to have my name mentioned around the school for
