Sure she can’t go do crazy things like she did when she was a child, but she is still really happy. When I asked her about how she felt about death, she simply said “Life's too short to be thinking about death. Of course I am going to die at some point, heck it could be tomorrow, but I wouldn’t be happy living like that. So I just take life day by day and I am happy as a claim.” I found through this interview that my grandmother was a lot more than she seemed and I genuinely enjoyed talking to her. She had so many good stories about her life and I could have listened to her all day. Now did talking to my grandmother change how I view old people. No it didn’t. I always have and always will respect elderly people. Sure sometimes they are crazy, but they have so much wisdom and have been through so many changes in society, that it’s hard not to respect them. Sure they may not be useful physically in society, but without them we would only have the knowledge about how life was in previous generations, but looking at google. All the personal stories would be lost and personal stories are what makes something better.; All in all I felt that this interview helped me to better understand aging and realise that aging is what you make of it.
