Jack The Giant Slayer

Personally, in my mind, the best Jack for a twelve-year-old is definitely the Jack in the Jack the Giant Slayer. In the movie version of this story, Jack is extremely different from the other two versions of this story. In the movie, they portrait Jack as more of a gentle and kind-hearted kid. The main reason that this version of Jack is the best for a twelve-year-old is because of the fact that he doesn’t need to kill as many giants in order to save the people in the kingdom. In Jack the Giant Killer, Jack has to kill many different giants, but in Jack the Giant Slayer he still has to kill giants, but not near as many. In the movie, Jack uses different ways to save the people. For example, the movie could have been made where they kill all

I believe that in the novel, jack is changing to a murderer. You could see that because, in the beginning he was scared to kill a pig, then in the middle he slaughtered a pig not even caring about the meat, and with no hesitation and at the end, they killed Simon and tried to hunt down and murder Ralph. In the beginning of the book jack was not a murderer because he was hesitating to kill a pig for food, even though he was, hungry he didn't kill because he is scared of the kill. Simon, Ralph and, jack were…

To further support the movie, Jack the Giant Slayer as a heroic story, there is another part of how the film gives the hints to complete Jack into a hero. The evil character and future Isabelle’s husband, Roderick, holds the legendary golden crown secretly from the beginning part of the film, which he will use in his conspiracy of taking over the Kingdom with the Giants. The connection between Roderick and the crown appeared as an obstacle on Jack’s journey, which makes it the journey harder. For example, Roderick takes out the crown when he is in trouble and barely survives the evil giant. At this part, it doesn’t show clear images of how he survives, but Roderick attempts to find the crown in his bag, and the camera uses close-up angle, and…

LOTF Essay Could modern day society function without clear rules, laws, and enforcement of those rules? In Lord Of The Flies, William Golding uses symbolism and characters to show that humans need rules and enforcement of those rules in order to function effectively. Without them, humans naturally become savages, which leads to an unsustainable and dangerous society. The diminishing power of the rules, and the results of this is shown through the fire, the power and respect towards the conch, and Jacks changing attitude.…

Jack is a distinct example of the instinct of savagery, desire of power, and violent nature that the boys come to follow. Jack is Ralphs antithesis, or opposite in other words. Immediately, Jack retains the sense of decency and behavior that society has taught him. Susan Gulbin quoted Golding in saying "every man is part savage and that savagery is disguised or concealed only by the wall of civilization built by our ancestors" (Gulbin 87). Jack soon obsesses himself with hunting and devotes himself to the task, painting his face and giving himself over to bloodlust.…

Case Study-Jack • Do you think that Jack’s current unwillingness to become vulnerable to others out of his fear of “being dependent on them and trapped by their love” has much to do with his mother’s unconditional love? Although we don’t have much information about Jack’s early years, his difficulty establishing intimate relationships would point to issues at the oral stage by Freud’s interpretation. I think Jack’s relationship issues stem from his relationships with both of his parents.…
